Reading submissions

Star, archive, search and export what came in.

Every submission is stored as well as emailed. The dashboard is where you go when the email is not enough — to search months of them, to check whether something was filtered, or to hand a batch to someone else.

The four views

ViewWhat is in it
InboxEverything that arrived and was not filtered or put away.
StarredAnything you marked. Starring does not move it out of the inbox.
SpamCaught by the filter, or reported from a notification email. Never deleted silently — you can look and disagree.
ArchivedDealt with. Out of the inbox, still searchable, still exportable.

Marking something as spam is a correction, not a deletion: it teaches nothing and destroys nothing, it just moves the row. Unmarking puts it back.

Finding one

  • Search matches the subject, the sender name and the sender address.
  • The form picker narrows to a single form — useful when several forms share an inbox.
  • Both apply within the current view, so you can search inside spam without leaving it.

Export

Export CSV takes the current view, filter and search with it — what you see is what you get. Every plan can export, and there is nothing to stop you leaving; see the Submissions API if you would rather pull them programmatically.

Making it open the way you want

Account → Preferences sets which view the inbox opens on, and whether rows are compact. If you spend more time triaging spam than reading the inbox, point it at spam and stop clicking.
